beginnings..................

well, they say there are a few definitive years in ones life and i've been lucky to have already had a few. our generation has had the fortunate advantage of having the world of travel at our fingertips which many of the brothers and sisters of the fixing crew are still out there enjoying (see below blog.... woody, you naughty boy)...
2008 looks to be one of those years for sal and i.. when I think what is to happen I kinda get a little bit daunted but I supose life really is about playing a game worth living for....... so as the last remaining of the hazlewood clan enters this year we find ourselves with a massive work season, a may wedding, a house in progress and whatever else comes our way..

so as the cruise season tides of November/December & January work slowly through our veins , our the time has passed and the set date of a february build is now upon us. we were down at our land on the weekend mowing the beast before work begins this tuesday. You cant see the pegs very clearly as they are hammered close to the ground but they are there. The electrical box is in place and erosion barriers ready to go. watch this space as we'll place a few pics on the fix as it all goes up.

The rammed earth walls are to go up mid february which will really set the tone. The hoop pines up the back head straight into a natural forest which is where our bedroom will be (straight up from the electrical box).
the other thing that has occurred somehow is that sal and I have become native bee keepers of recent and we now host a few thousand native bees on our deck.. go figure as I never thought i would bee (hehehe) a host to such creatures but its been a breeze so far. i'll be ready to harvest my first kilo of honey in around 8 months and they shall do all the hard work and polinate all our trees for us.. i reckon we've got it good..

so to all you fixers out there we are sorry about the lack of correspondance but it doesnt mean we aint thinking of you and on this australia day monday we are really wishing everyone a whole lotta love ... wherever you bee.....

The Weekly Footy Fix

There are only 31 days to the Super 14 season begins which means it is footy tipping time. 2008 is going to be a bumper year, so I am organized enough this year to include all three codes in this years comp.

Update your details and register at Footy Tips for the weekly fix competitions.

I have added a footy tipping blog which will replace Bear's blue diary.

Spread the word with your facebook friends and see how big we can get this years comp.

It's Just Not Cricket

Australia's summer sporting landscape looks a lot different this year.

Australia's only summer sport and Australia's national pastime cricket seems to be fading with local interests. Just looking at the grounds this year. I've never seen so many empty chairs at a test match in Australia.

Cricket seems to have plenty of problems at the moment, mainly due to the fact that Australia are light years away from there closest opposition.

Their next biggest problem comes from Australian soccer/football. The A-league is booming and a competitive entertaining competition makes for an enjoyable alternative summer sport. There is one round left in the A-League season before finals and the Qld Roar have a real chance of taking the title.

Good luck to the mighty Roar hit em' for six

UPGRADE 1.02

Ok. I shall start with the sidebar.

In this column a photo of the future Erectus clan heads the column followed by a rather raw countdown clock to D-Day.

Next is my Skype link, if the button shows I am online you can call me using Skype. If you do not have Skype, why not? It is free!

Bear can you skype me or could someone let me know Bear's Skype Id.

Following my Skype ID is a list of other mutant blogs:

1. Colisa Course aka Col & Isa
2. Mezbear - Bear & Mez
3. Mumbai-Madness - Mark & Sharon
4. Sunset Blvd Poker - my home poker games

** If any of you mutants have a blog or want a favorite blog site let me know and I will add the link.

After the Mutant blogs is a list of fixers that are able to write their own posts on this site. I would love many more. You need to reply to an invitation to become a poster, so let me know if anyone wants to post to the Fix.
There has been rumours that the Blue Nutter is going to make an appearance on the Fix soon, but those rumours have been circling since Yeronga days..

The Weekly Fix archive feature enables you to go back and check every post dating back to July 10th 2005.

Next is a Blogbar search engine where you can surf the net as well as this blog.

The next two widgets are sport related. Firstly a little program that updates this summers test matches followed my a news reed supplying all of this years nrl news. Hope you like this Bear and Col.

The next widget is from c/net and links you up to all the computer and IT news.

The last program in the sidebar is a consumer affairs widget that gives good advice and reviews of stuff.

Scroll down past the last post and you will see a neon Weekly Fix sign followed by the old arcade classic, Frogger. There are plenty of other games available. Space Invaders, Asteriods, Donky Kong and Moon Patrol but to name a few. So let me know what you want next.

Once you have finished with frogger you can check out my YouTube favorites.

A count up clocked has been added calculating the time that has passed since the great HST passed away.

I would like to add a slide show to the Fix so if anyone has any photos they would like to email me you can get my address on the envelope at the end of each post or

mysurname.mychristianname@gmail.com

Weekly Fix Upgrade

Hope you like the changes for the Fix.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of Australian and more importantly Queensland Rugby League hence the move to a maroon background. Additions to the blog have been the old Atari game Frogger, not sure if it tracks high scores, but does ask you to put your name in it before playing.

Bear would have to be odds on to clock this game....

There is also a collection of my favorite YouTube vids, mainly breakn' at the moment but will work on a wider selection.

Also a little reminder of When Hunter S last graced the land.

Hope everyone had the Xmas and New Year they all anticipated

Only in India!

Whilst on our Christmas Escape (from Bombay) on a beach in Kerala – we had one of those funny ‘you had to be there to really get it’ experiences, but I have to share it…...
On Christmas Eve, we headed to the Funky Arts CafĂ© after dinner. They had their annual ‘big event’ for Christmas with Bollywood dancers (more like anorexic telly tubbies in tights who could groove), musicians playing the tabla and other such exciting acts. The place was packed, and a young German couple and ourselves were squeezed into, what in the day is a book exchange, but that night, there were 2 tables squeezed in giving us an excellent view of the ‘show’.

More often than not, waiters ask us where we’re from, after we say Australia, the reply is often a head wobble followed with the response “Ah…. Ricky Ponting” more head wobbling. (In India, Cricket is a religion & we’re in trouble for being victorious Aussies after today’s game!). On this day, our waiter, asked the German couple where they were from, he looked rather proud of himself, wobbling his head said “Ah…..Hitler”. The German couple could only look at each other, look at him and smile.
The Mumbai Madness blog has been updated.
