Well it was never going to be easy leaving Colombia so we tried to ease ourselves out of there by doing a 5 day sailing trip up to the magnificent San Blas islands through the Caribbean to Panama. These random photos are of Jane trying to drown me on one of the islands. We were left by the sailboat on an island and some Kuna indians (indegenous people to Panama) took us to the mainland. We travelled for about an hour upriver in a dugout through jungle, seeing alligators and iguanas, only to get left in the middle of nowhere in a national park with only a mud track out of there. Luckily the Kuna are some of the friendliest people we´ve met and they organised for a car to come and get us. (3 hours later). All good until we got stuck in the mud. I swear I thought the engine on that car was going to explode as the driver made us jump up and down in the back to try and get traction and get out of there. Eventually another car came along and pulled us out. Now in Panama City. Saw the Panama Canal today - huge boats going through the locks- pretty impressive. Next stop for me Guatemala (via 4 countries - 4 days on a bus - it will be hell) and for Jane its Europe.. watch out european agents - she´s in good form.
