Colombia Files

Jane and I thought you might all appreciate a brief report from Colombia - the land where they serve coffee with a little straw which I think is a very polite way of facilitating our nocturnal activities seeing as the notes don´t roll so well. Not that we´ve indulged in such activities .... yet. We´ve been lucky enough to be otherwise occupied with quite a lot of ayahuasca taking. Ayahuasca is DMT based and taken traditionally by indians in South America in a ceremony with a shaman. Its pretty mind blowing stuff causing a fair bit of vomiting and running to the toilet but the pay off is worth it. You literally lose yourself for several hours and are off in another world filled with visions and energy and spirits. Life is never the same again after a strong ayahuasca experience. And our second day in Colombia our friend Christian took us to see a shaman friend for such an experience. We spent the next 2 weeks in San Agustin with visits from shamans every other night. Quite a special time. We´ve also been trekking to magical jungle waterfalls, thermal springs, horse-riding to precolombian ruins and just soaking up the beauty of this area. Now its on to Cali for the weekend and maybe a chance to put our straws to use. The first photo you see here of Jane is what happens when you´re cheeky to the paramilitary. They stop buses regularly and do searches with mean looking guns.. Jane caught the wrong end of one for her smart mouth. Further down is us monging on Christian´s balcony. Next is us with a shaman who is apparently entranced by Jane´s gigantic height and then us on top of the world in Ecuador.
