If you live in VIC, or perhaps if you live in QLD but fantasise about moving to the cultured south (and i bet there's a few of you), the equivalent is Origen Energy..
it may be cultured, at the same time slightly illiterate...it's Origin Energy....
Why not go nuclear. Far and away a better solution. Cleaner. More cost efficient. Far more energy efficient. Wake up Australia. Dont be afraid of change. Especially when it's for the good of the planet.

Yes blunutter, but it's a far better immediate solution to cutting emmissions. Thats the crucial thing. We have got to stop burning coal, otherwise those 10 year predictions will become reality. Wind power is useless, especially as a short term solution. Or even as a long term one. If we harnessed the gale blowing thru your ears, we'd only get a very dim light out of the old dolphin torch. It is so inefficient its not funny.
But I do agree with some your suggestions, particularly regarding consumption.
I wonder though, if you all drive cars?
steady on you lot. there are elements of truth in all the above arguements. i agree with bluey and anon. comsumption is the key. if only we could not be such gluttenous consumers.
so i guess thats where we, the caring individual, can start. by not consuming so much. and by killing the fat controller.

Sorry Anon but I am not buying into your nuclear theory. I think your missing the point. Nuclear is actually a non-renewable energy, the same as fossil fuels. Point being if we move over to nuclear then we havent solved the probem as its also a finite resource that eventually will run out as well (as fossil fuels) with even greater waste implications.
i see the chinese have made cooking and heating gas from their household poo pits for a long time ... supposedly supplies 75% of the average household needs ..
perhaps we could do the same with our cars ... "just going out to the garage for a shit honey" ... you could have a toilet seat in every seat ... wicked .. we'd be picking up hitchhickers ... giving them food laced with laxitives ... no more need for taxis
