Another week has passed and though the Broncos and Cowboys won, our beloved Lions went down for the second time this season to the Bulldogs.
A closely fought battle for the honours this week and with an outright victory Heidi takes the prize with 11/16, picking the Rabbitohs over the Bulldogs clinched the round so a big Congrats - Well done!

World Music Dance Party
Well finally, all the blood, sweat and bruised knuckles
we've put into our training for the big event is about to
pay off....
200 drummers and rhythm makers, including the 2 Mels, Mark
and Rachel, will be banging their way (drumming that is..)
along the Brisbane River. It's going to be amazing - so we
hope you can make it! Details are below - the big event
kicks off at 3.45pm on Sunday, and we are also (all 150 of
us) are cramming into the Drum at West End South Leagues
club on Saturday night.
Hope to see you somewhere there! Send this on to anyone you
know might enjoy...
love

Here she comes folks... the manifestation of 10 years of
building rhythm in South East Qld... 200 beautiful and
soulful people are about to come together to collectively
send out one big, phat and loud message of positivity and
Good Will. Love, peace and hope well and truly underly this
massif injection into our local community spirit!!
For two and a half months I have been working with 5 groups
of some 30-odd people. We have a beginner, an intermediate
and an advanced group here in Briznyland plus a Sunshine
Coast group and a Gold Coast group. We've been working on 3
different African rhythm pieces: Kakilambe, Light Sabar and
Bring Back the Mojo!! And people, it is totally rocking -
this is going to be one incredible performance!!
150 djembe players
15 doundoun players
15 bell and shekere players
dancers, fire twirlers, unicyclists and more.
The Goodwill Parade itself is happening on Sunday afternoon
3.45 pm, Sunday is the beginning of the bang! Two tribes,
either side of the Goodwill bridge will drum up towards each
other to the centre of the bridge, meet in goodwill, then
move through South Bank arriving at the Spiegletent on the
Qld Performing Arts Centre forecourt around 5pm for the
final performance.
The place to be, intially, is down by the river at a good
viewing position of the Goodwill Bridge. From there head up
to the Ship Inn and follow us right through. We'll be
stopping to perform at the Ship Inn, the Buskers Pitch (at
Breaka beach) and then at the Suncorp Piazza.
We'll be face painted and wearing Qld Music Festival shirts.
It will be spectacular!
Pulse is happening this Saturday night down at the Drum,
South Leagues Club, Jane St. Davies Park, West End.
World Music Dance Party!!
The main act of the night is Sam Okoth of Kenya and Nii
Armah of Ghana. These talented musicians and dancers will be
presenting a fusion of their cultural performance-art forms
as well as pulling together a band of Brisbane's finest
muso's to improvise on some damn funky grooves and spirit-
lifting melodies. This is highly likely to evolve into one
of those totally outrageous freak occurrences that can only
happen in the right space and with absolute spontaneity.
And of course Zormiwasa will be there, pounding out the
three phat grooves we've been working on - Kaki Lambe, Sabar
and Bring Back the Mojo! This will double both as our final
rehearsal for the following day and a performance in and of
itself. Everybody is coming and I've got a feeling that this
will be in some ways even more fun and outrageous... It'll
be our first chance to give it all up for an audience and it
is within the fine (licenced) venue of the Drum and so it'll
be a total riot - a pumping party!!
Doors open at 7pm, music kicks off at 8. Cover charge is $15
and $12 conc, under 18's $7, under 12's free.
Fine food and beverage available.

CTA Results - Week 22
Six rounds or NRL left and only 2 points seperating third and tenth spot, so finals football is far from being settled. Broncos lost to the Bulldogs in a cracker match, beware, the bulldogs are looking ominous. Cowboys secured 4th spot with a win over the Panthers who are now out of contention for the finals.
Look out, the Lions are in the top 8, just one win outside the top four that carries a home final and with just five rounds remaining, every team must be nervous that the sleeping giants are waking from their slumber. Lions remaing games are Bulldogs (A), Hawks (H), Sydney(A),Port (H), and Saints (A), so the Lions last home game is against the reigning premiers, so get organised if you want to cheer the Lions on, as tickets are sure to sell out fast.
Selecting all the home teams Beardsly and Hound won this weeks tipping with an impressive 14/16. Congrats guys. Outright leader Jamesy also increased his lead over the chasing pack and is looking strong to win this years comp in his debut season.

"SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS" IS UPON US!!
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN, THINK ABOUT NEXT YEAR,
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN AND CANT MAKE IT, YOU'LL BE MISSED,
AND FOR THOSE GOING,
REMEMBER THIS..............
THE VIBE! THE BIRTHDAY BASH REPORT
How nice is it to wake up on your birthday and the first thing you feel is a warm ray of sunshine peaking through the blinds inviting you to get up and share the day with it? The perfect day was laid out in what was to be the most unusual of experiences.
Dirty “Thirty-Five” was a birthday that I had silently set a few goals to achieve by and I am happy to say that as I rose to begin the task of manically getting ready for a BBQ, I couldn’t help think I was doing alright for myself.
But any thought of further self congratulations was soon overshadowed by the many little tasks that needed completion compounded by the pounding head, the dry throat and memory of the numerous bottles of Verve Cliquot and other spirits that slipped down my throat at #9 Hazlewood Street the night prior, on my last night of my 34th year.
None the less as the day past noon and people started to trickle in I began to feel the glow of knowledge in how lucky I was to have such an awesome spectrum of friends. Thank you all for turning up and positively involving yourself in what was a good day to remember. Whilst there are a few memories best forgotten all I can say is that as far as achieving those personal goals goes, with a group of friends such as the crew in presence on Sunday I can only say that I know I am doing alright.
Heidi you make an absolutely wicked cake and Sal the day wouldn’t have been possible without you and your continual support. I dig ya babe... #9 Hazlewood you guys rock and to all out there who made it thank you for making the effort of being part of this boy's transition into the “middle ages” (did I say that????).
The pictures say it all. ENJOY!!

THE VIBE! HAZLEWOOD BLOGS ON MAN...
G'Day Punters...
Hazlewood had blogged on and from time to time expect a posting from the kids in Paddo.... It could be Auntie Sal with a word of advice, Issa Breeza with a cocktail or two, Mad Dog Col with a summation on the new brew just bottled or just myself ranting and raving (as usual).
Whatever the case we are happy to be part of the Fix and stay tuned to our next posting which just might hint at the cornicopia of things on the sideline wating to come...................
Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sundee.....

Administrators Wanted
Some people are asking how can I post on this blog.
Only administrators can post blogs, to become an administrator you must be sent an invitation from this blog. Once you have received an invitation follow the prompts, this includes becoming a member of Blogger.com.
Would love to see as many people as possible blogging on the fix so let me know and I will send you the invite, as far as I am aware there is no limit on administrators.
Although this blog is accessible to anyone with a computer and internet account I have purposely avoided all marketing tools used to attract visitors to the site.

Josies Birtday Bash
A cracker of a night was had by all last night with celebrations for a treasured mutant fixer gaining another year yesterday. Over a score of dodgy beasts turned up to the Vietnamese Inn in the Valley, the $20 banquet was a pucker choice and the wine devoured was first class and plentiful. Heidi produced another award winning birthday cake, champion effort.
Caught up with mates haven't seen in over a decade, great to see you Matty.
Continued festivities back at Josie's woke up this morning surprised to see Josie up and about, well done Josie and thanks for a fantastic night.
