Hail Our Hero Ash

The northern hemisphere is all aghast with the heroic deeds of our man Ash as he managed to fly
through a ferocious hail storm saving himself and a passenger from certain peril over the Alberta, British Columbia border.

If running out of fuel and snapping a blade are the two worst case scenerios that face a helicopter pilot, then flying into a hail storm would have to be the next most terrifying prospect.

In a helicopter, what would you do if you flew into a hail storm?

Once faced with this wall of ice, Ash aimed to the heavens and up through the heart of the storm, forcing his wilting chopper through to clear skies. Instantley checking for damage Ash noticed the hail had penetrated the shell and was forced to land his shattered chopper in a swamp.

The hail in Ash's hand was one of many that penetrated the shell of the helicopter.

If anyone would like to speak to Ash you can catch him on skype. Ash's username is upinashnsmoke. If you have skype you can speak to Ash for as long as you like for zip. If you don't have skype you can get skype for free here

BABES AT THE MARKET TODAY!

WEST END MARKETS

For those of you that havent been for a while, or for some fixers never, I thought I might post a couple of pics of the markets today!

Personal Thoughts - I managed to buy a weeks veges for around $35.00.... Breads and dips and extras came to about $25.00.... So as far as cost I dont think it represents huge savings. It took us 20 minutes to find a park and each week it seems to get a litle busier but I enjoyed the fact that I didnt shop at Woolworths/Coles etc and of course the culture and possible chance to see a fixer makes it very worthwhile. (Sal's input is that she thinks it such a beautiful place to spend a Saturday morning at) Therefore two thumbs up...

Put it this way, I always leave liking the fact I went....

THE KING OF MONG

AND THE WINNER,
BY A MILE,
IS............

MING MONG CONTINUED...........

IN CELEBRATION OF THE "MING MONG"

NOSTALGIA

I couldnt resist throwing a couple of pics on the fix of a bloody wicked trip experienced in the past. I think the other two fixers on the trip will agree with me....

THIS MUST STOP!!!!!!

How come the people that start war
Dont fight the war?
How come the the people that are killed in war
Have nothing to do with the reason for war?
How is it that we as people sit here
And do nothing to stop it?
What can I do?
When will it stop?
Do I ignore it?
Or pretend it isnt out there?
I feel so fucken useless....
Help ...
I dont know what to do...
Crying doesnt seem to help.
I now say this out LOUD..
Because I dont know what else to do?
Help...

A FEW SPLENDA SNAPS

SPLENDOR BENDER! THE CREW

DAY TWO! WE ARENT LOOKING TOO BAD FOR A BUNCH OF MISFITS...

Splendor,,,,,, another great year.. Really, to anyone who has been to this great event several times,,, each year the event becomes less about the music and more about the people. This year proved to be another great turn out with people coming from as far as Darwin in the North (The Brains Division) and Melbourne in the South (Shagga a.k.a. Blind Mullet).

All reports record a great time but ask anyone if they remember the music and the answer is NO..

Actually ask Daz, he's about the only one who was consistent in seeing bands and hence the reason he is not in the above shot...

SPECIAL HOLIDAYS

THANKS WHERE THANKS IS DUE.....

DEAREST MANTA RAY
FOR THE WORLD TO SEE.....
From the bottom of this Fixer's heart (as well as the others on our trip) all I can say is thank you!!! The experience you gave all of us was second to none and so unique that I can only think our holiday will never be topped. The experience you moulded will stay in our hearts and minds forever and I can only think that a piece of Exmouth is now imbedded in my soul.
Thank you. Thank. Thank you.
What can I say but shed a tear in the beautiful memory of such a wonderful experience and I only hope that others may pilgrimage your way in the hope of understanding just how special this area is....
A Humbled Fixer!!! xx
PS - Should you decide to venture away from Exmouth (and I totally understand if you never do) please know Bris-Vegas welcomes you with open arms!!!

THE ORIGINALS

WHO MADE IT? WHO THOUGHT OF IT? WHO DESIGNED IT?

HARDCORE

YERONGA DAYS
Heading:
The morning after a night on the turps with Bear and Beasty (and a wicked Spearhead concert I think).

This unlucky Fixer woke up to find that somehow during the night he had split his tongue open. Now most people would have gone to the hospital straight away but he decided to wait 24 hours just incase his tongue miraculously healed.

This is the outcome 24 hours later.

He was at the hospital 20 minutes after this photo was taken!!
5 stitches in the tongue

JOKE OF THE DAY - PROUD

On a tour of the East Coast of Australia, the Queen took a couple of days off to visit the coast.
Her Range Rover was driving along the golden sands when there was an enormous commotion.
They rushed to see what it was and upon approaching the scene the Queen noticed, just outside the surf, a hapless man wearing a NSW jersey, struggling frantically to free himself from the jaws of a 20 foot shark!

At that exact moment a speedboat containing three men wearing QLD tops sped into view. One of the men took aim at the shark and fired a harpoon into its ribs, immobilising it instantly. The other two reached out and pulled the NSW fan from the water and, using long clubs, beat the shark to death. They bundled the bleeding, semi-conscious man into the speedboat,
along with the dead shark and prepared for a hasty retreat, when they heard frantic calling from the shore......

It was the Queen calling them to the beach. On reaching land the Queen went into raptures about the rescue and said, "I'll give you a knighthood for your brave actions. I heard that the people of Queensland and NSW hated each other. But now I've see this, it's a truly enlightened example of tribal harmony which could serve as a model for other nations." She knighted them and drove off.

As she departed the harpoonist asked the others,"Who was that?!" That," one answered, "was the Queen. She rules the Commonwealth and knows everything about our country."

Well," the harpoonist replied, "she knows f*** all about shark fishing. How's the bait holding up, or do we need to get another one yet?"

Qld Victory Party

Forget the World Cup, forget Wimbledon. If you are a Queenslander, it's Christmas and New Years all rolled into one on Wednesday night, as the Mighty Maroons take on the overated Cockroaches in a decider in Mexican heartland.

The Herston Hoods will be viewing the match from the comfort of their own home followed by a Victory Party. All Mutant Canetoads and Cockroaches are most welcome.

Recently I had a problem with the site as it went down for a while. In trying to get it running again I deleted a post about Origin posted by Isa.

Sorry Isa. Please keep posting.

Hope to see as many mutants as possible.

Go the Mighty Maroons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
